Skiing and snowboarding in Avoriaz
Avoriaz belongs to the best skiing places I’ve ever been. Not only for 650 kilometers of slopes of Portes du Soleil ski resort, but especially because of its cool atmosphere. The best days of local lifts and cable cars have already passed, but I don’t care. Much more important is for me the sunny weather (guess why is this place called Sunny Gate!) and perfectly prepared tracks. Combined with delicious French cuisine – sweet crepes, Rhône-Alpes specialities and tasty wine – I can’t find any reason for not coming back.
Winter in French Alps
What I like most about winter is when fierce snow storm changes over night into perfect peaceful morning. Tree branches are covered with fresh snow, early sunbeams appear from behind the mountains and I literally feel that today is going to be THAT day.
I fasten my ski, look on the beauty all around me and dive down for the first ride in powder snow. Those are the moments for which it is worth to live.
