The beauty of Landmannalaugar really brought me down to my knees. Not only that panorama of vivid colored mountain tops takes breath, but hiking them is exhausting as well. :) Imagine following narrow steep path leading to the obsidian green summit Blahnukur, staggering down on almost vertical trail back, having to ford an ice-cold river, crossing lava field and finally reaching top of rainbow-colored Brennisteinsalda mountain.
Anyway, it was worth it! If for nothing else than for seeing how setting sun covered Landmannalaugar with soft yellow light and brought peaceful atmosphere into this very strange place.
